Dutch tenor Linard Vrielink holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Universität der Künste (UdK) in Berlin, where he studied with Prof Elisabeth Werres.
While still at the UdK, Linard Vrielink made his debut at Staatsoper Berlin as Scaramuccio/Ariadne auf Naxos and was subsequently invited to join the opera studio. Over the next two seasons, he performed roles such as Steuermann /Der fliegende Holländer, Belfiore/La Finta Giardinera, Remendado/Carmen, Seemann in a new production of Tristan und Isolde and Junker Spärlich/Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor, both conducted by Daniel Barenboim, and Don Basilio/Le nozze di Figaro under Marc Minkowski.
In the 2024/25 season, Linard Vrielink will return to Staatsoper Berlin to perform as Janek in Janáček's *The Makropulos Case* and in the high tenor roles of the Composer, Harfoboj, and Miroslav in Janáček's *The Excursions of Mr. Brouček*, with the latter conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. He will also reprise the role of Arbace in Mozart's *Idomeneo* at De Nationale Opera Amsterdam.
Vrielink will make his debut at the Glyndebourne Festival, performing as Jonathan in Barrie Kosky's production of Händel's *Saul*, conducted by Jonathan Cohen.
His concert engagements for the season include performances of Bach's *St. John’s Passion* and *St. Matthew’s Passion* with the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra and the Residentie Orkest. Additionally, he will return to Staatstheater Kassel to collaborate with Francesco Angelico in Bruckner's *Te Deum Laudamus*.
In recent seasons, Linard Vrielink has made noteworthy debuts and return performances, highlighting his growing presence in the opera and concert scene. He debuted with the Berliner Philharmoniker in Mozart’s Krönungsmesse under Kirill Petrenko, with performances in Berlin, Barcelona, and Madrid, and appeared at the BBC Proms with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle in Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri. At Staatsoper Berlin, Vrielink reprised the roles of Asle in Sleepless and Arbace in Idomeneo, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and made his role debut as Leukippos in Strauss’ Daphne in a new production by Romeo Castellucci. Additionally, he debuted as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at Bergen National Opera and as Ferrando in Così fan tutte with the Orchestra of the 18th century.
In the concert sphere, Vrielink's engagements included performing Janek in Vec Makropulos with the Nederlands Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Bach’s St. John's Passion at the Chateau de Versailles, where he sang the part of the evangelist.
